Youngdae Kim was a research aide at Argonne in the summer of 2012, during which time he developed an adaptive dynamic programming method for linear spline regressions, used to estimate hydropower electricity generation.
Kim received his Ph.D. degree in computer sciences from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 2017. He joined Argonne as a postdoctoral appointee after working as a postdoctoral researcher at the Wisconsin Institute for Discovery for half a year.
