Entrepreneurial Ventures

A range of avenues for making impact

Argonne offers multiple resources and pathways for those interested in learning about and pursuing entrepreneurship.

Chain Reaction Innovations

Chain Reaction Innovations

Chain Reaction Innovations (CRI) is a two-year program for innovators focused on energy and science technologies. Through an annual call, four to six teams from around the country are selected to join CRI and tap into Argonne National Laboratory’s expertise and resources on a daily basis, working side-by-side with Argonne’s world-class scientists and engineers.

Energy I-Corps

Energy I-Corps

Energy I-Corps (formerly Lab-Corps) is a U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) program that pairs teams of Argonne researchers with industry mentors for an intensive two-month training where the researchers define technology value propositions, conduct customer discovery interviews, and develop viable market pathways for their technologies. Researchers return to their laboratory with a framework for industry engagement to guide future research and inform a culture of market awareness.

Polsky Center for Entrepreneurship and Innovation

Polsky Center for Entrepreneurship and Innovation

The Polsky Center for Entrepreneurship and Innovation drives venture creation and technology commercialization within the University of Chicago and the surrounding community. Through education, partnerships, and new venture support, the Polsky Center advances the knowledge and practice of entrepreneurship and accelerates the commercialization of research.

The Polsky Center helps students, faculty, staff, alumni, researchers and local entrepreneurs navigate the complex process of creating and growing a startup. Argonne is managed by the University of Chicago for DOE and has close ties to various UChicago entities, including the Polsky Center.
