Argonne OutLoud: Energy Slam

April 3, 2104 – Four Argonne researchers each presented for 10 minutes on a different energy source — solar, wind, nuclear and biofuels. At the end of the presentations, the audience voted via applause on which of the four made the best case for his/her energy source and earned the title of Energy Slam Champion.

Niala Boodhoo, host of WBEZ Radio Chicago’s The Afternoon Shift,” served as guest emcee. The lineup was as follows: Seth Darling (solar), a nanoscientist who focuses on solar energy conversion; Guenter Conzelmann (wind), head of Argonne’s Wind Power Technologies and Analysis Program; J’Tia Taylor (nuclear), nuclear engineer; and Jennifer Dunn (biofuels), head of Argonne’s Biofuel Life Cycle Analysis Team.
