Argonne has developed a waste-to-energy process that generates near-pipeline-quality biogas from organic waste

Innovation is needed to transform carbon waste streams into high value products, such as fuels or chemicals.  Argonne has developed a waste-to-energy process that, from organic waste, generates biogas that’s near pipeline quality (up to 90 percent methane) and high value organic fertilizer while streamlining the capture and sequestration of CO2 present in produced biogas. The developed process breaks from tradition by uniting both the production and clean-up of biogas in one vessel.
