Innovation is needed to transform carbon waste streams into high value products, such as fuels or chemicals.  Argonne has developed a waste-to-energy process that, from organic waste, generates biogas that’s near pipeline quality (up to 90 percent methane) and high value organic fertilizer while streamlining the capture and sequestration of CO₂ present in produced biogas. The developed process breaks from tradition by uniting both the production and clean-up of biogas in one vessel.
