Microelectronics Research

Microelectronics at Argonne has two focus areas and a broad portfolio of projects in progress. Many leverage the special capabilities of key Argonne user facilities, such as the Advanced Photon Source, Center for Nanoscale Materials, and Argonne Leadership Computing Facility.

Areas of Focus

The focus of our microelectronics research is to overcome fundamental scientific challenges to the future of information processing and accelerate advanced manufacturing of novel microelectronics devices and architectures.

Projects

Argonne is well equipped in terms of expertise and capabilities required for long-term, future microelectronics science. This ranges from Argonne’s projects in the software and architecture area, to materials, physics and devices.
