The division is home to an elite core of staff already at Argonne that are working on Data Science and Machine Learning, with matrixed staff from all areas of Argonne creating the key connections needed to develop data science and AI applications. The DSL division builds on and expands the approximately 200 staff at Argonne working on over 60 data intensive and machine learning projects, and forms partnerships with AI and data science activities at universities and industry.

Essential to this research is access to leadership-class computers, as well as collaborations with universities, industry, and other research institutions worldwide.
