On May 2, 2022, Energy Systems became two new divisions.

The Transportation and Power Systems (TAPS) division is helping the transition to a decarbonized economy by developing sustainable transportation and power solutions. The division is making advancements toward future transportation, mobility, and power solutions with ground-breaking experimental and analytical activities.

The Energy Systems and Infrastructure Analysis (ESIA) division addresses energy security and environmental sustainability by analyzing the benefits and challenges of efficient energy technologies and renewable energy and making U.S. energy system more sustainable and resilient.


With an unwavering focus on our mission, our researchers take an interdisciplinary approach to research, advancing their fields of study and generating new knowledge for the benefit of future generations.
