Argonne offers opportunities to join us as we address the most pressing challenges related to quantum information science. Those interested in becoming a part of our team are encouraged to apply.
The Medium Energy Physics group in Argonne’s Physics division invites applications for a postdoctoral position to conduct research in the field of experimental quantum simulation and computation. The focus of this project is to build a quantum simulation apparatus based on neutral ytterbium atoms trapped in re-configurable optical tweezer arrays with the goal of using this apparatus to perform quantum simulations of systems relevant to nuclear physics. Interested candidates should apply here.
Chicago Quantum Exchange (CQE) Quantum Initiative Undergraduate Fellowship
During this fellowship, undergraduate students will expand their understanding of Quantum Information Science and Engineering (QISE), connect with leaders in academia and industry and increase their awareness of quantum career opportunities. With the support of CQE’s member and partner institutions, this fellowship helps to establish diversity, equity and inclusion as priorities central to the development of the quantum ecosystem.
Students participating in this program will spend the summer (June 10, 2022 — August 19, 2022) working in person with research groups on challenging, meaningful QISE projects. The summer experience will be aimed at developing students’ research literacy skills and their exposure to the wide diversity of physics subfields (including experimental, computational and theoretical approaches) in:
- Quantum Optics/Information Science
- Quantum Computing
- Quantum Communication
Applications are due February 11, 2022. More information is available on the CQE website.
