Increasing the efficiency of thermionic converters
New thermionic converters can help meet the demand for alternative methods for energy conversion.
Argonne researchers Abdellatif Yacout and Sumit Bhattacharya, both from the Chemical and Fuel Cycle Technologies division, have patented their work on the development of direct energy conversion to electricity using thermionic converters capable of operating at lower temperatures with increased efficiency in comparison to conventional converters. These new converters help meet the growing demand for alternative methods for energy conversion, reducing our dependency on conventional energy resources.
