Microscopic effects in quantum optical materials

MSD Hybrid Colloquium

Abstract: This talk will discuss quantum optical effects relevant to materials physics at deep microscopic scales.

I will talk about quantum sensing of spintronic and charge fluctuations using nitrogen-vacancy centers in diamond, transduction of optical skyrmions and computational electromagnetics of spin qubit systems.

I will also discuss our Purdue PicoMax software which computes the Maxwell Hamiltonian for 2D materials to compute optical polarization at the atomistic lattice level.
