Chibueze Amanchukwu

Joint Appointment [C]

Biography

Chibueze Amanchukwu is a Neubauer Family Assistant Professor in the Pritzker School of Molecular Engineering at the University of Chicago and holds a joint appointment in the Chemical Sciences and Engineering division at Argonne National Laboratory.

His research is focused on sustainable energy and involves electrolyte design, synthesis, and understanding of ion transport for next-generation batteries and efficient electrocatalytic devices. His team uses data science and machine learning (ML) algorithms for electrolyte discovery, and combines ML, computation, and novel characterization tools to correlate bulk solvation properties to electrochemical phenomena at the electrode-electrolyte interface.

Amanchukwu holds a PhD in chemical engineering as a NDSEG Fellow at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and was a TomKat Center Postdoctoral Fellow in Sustainable Energy at Stanford University.
