David Anderson

Director, Sustainable Mobility Program for AET

Biography

David Anderson is director of Argonne’s Sustainable Mobility Program, developing and executing business for Argonne’s science and engineering contributions across transportation and mobility topics. He coordinates the laboratory wide response and communication with the DOE Office of Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy’s (EERE) Transportation section, the U.S. Department of Transportation, and their Joint Office of Energy and Transportation.

Anderson is a computer engineer and transportation research manager whose work with the DOE and the semiconductor industry has had an enduring impact. He worked for 12 years within the Vehicle Technologies Office of DOE’s EERE developing transportation research programs related to high performance computing, artificial intelligence and data science for mobility. He also played a pivotal role in establishing the SMART (Systems and Modeling for Accelerated Research in Transportation) Mobility National Lab Consortium, fostering multi-lab collaboration to explore future mobility technologies. He has a bachelor’s degree from Clemson University and master’s degree from Duke University.
