David Kaphan

Assistant Chemist

David Kaphan is a chemist in the catalysis science program at Argonne National Laboratory. His research interests include mechanistic study and new catalyst development in homogeneous and supported organometallic catalysis.

Research Areas of Interest

David’s primary area of research is on the study of supported organometallic catalysis.  Specifically, he is interested in understanding how stereoelectronic communication between organometallic complexes and inorganic support materials can be leveraged to modulate reactivity.  David is also interested in the development of non-traditional functional materials as catalyst support frameworks. His research also includes a diverse array of other topics in homogeneous and heterogeneous catalysis.
