Evan VanderZee received his B.A. from Trinity Christian College of Palos Heights, IL with a double major in mathematics and computer science.  Subsequently he attended the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, where he earned a doctor of philosophy degree in mathematics with a computational science and engineering option.  The focus of his studies was within the area of numerical analysis, and more specifically in mesh optimization.

After receiving his Ph.D., Evan took a position as a postdoctoral appointee at Argonne National Laboratory. In time, the postdoctoral appointment evolved into a regular staff position. As of 2022, Evan works as a Software Engineer in the Strategic Security Sciences division. He works on several software projects within the division, primarily in the area of modeling and simulation.
