James F. Miller

Biography

Dr. James Miller is a senior scientist in the Energy Systems and Infrastructure Analysis division at Argonne National Laboratory. He also currently serves as the Secretary-General of the International Energy Agency’s Hybrid and Electric Vehicle Technology Collaboration Program.  He has 40 years of research experience at Argonne National Laboratory, working on advanced batteries, fuel cells, hydrogen, and electric vehicles. 

Miller has served on advisory committees for the National Academy of Sciences, the National Research Council, NASA, the International Council on Clean Transportation, and the US Department of Energy, and has testified before Congressional science committees. 

He received a Ph.D. in physics from the University of Illinois, and he holds an MBA degree from the University of Chicago.
