John joined Argonne in 2016. He has more than 20 years of experience as a global business development executive identifying opportunities and developing projects from startup to multi-million dollar businesses throughout the world. He has developed diverse businesses in solar energy, LED lighting and displays, flat-panel LCD and plasma displays, nanostructured and microstructured optics, media storage and safety markets throughout the Americas, Asia and Europe.

John started HatiCon Solar and served as President and CEO. He ran the business development function of Preformed Line Products / DPW Solar, Reflexite, and Fresnel Optics. He began his career as a product development engineer at 3M before joining a small, entrepreneurial team who built an optical film business that became one of 3M’s fastest-growing businesses.

John has B.S. degrees in Physics and Mathematics from Illinois College and a B.S. degree in Electrical Engineering from Washington University in St. Louis.
