Lauren Valentino

Environmental Engineer

Biography

Lauren Valentino is an Environmental Engineer in the Applied Materials Division at Argonne National Laboratory. Her research focuses on physical and chemical processes with an emphasis on addressing challenges related to sustainable, reliable, and cost-effective water and energy supplies. Her expertise includes membrane and electrochemical-based processes for water treatment and biofuel production applications. More specifically, her work includes material and technology development for various separations applications, including desalination, product/resource recovery, carbon dioxide capture, and waste-to-energy processes. In addition, she is evaluating the economic feasibility and environmental impacts associated with bioprocessing separations technologies.
