The comprehensive Argonne National Laboratory Research Security Program was established to safeguard U.S. science and engineering through the implementation of clear, actionable research security policies, procedures, practices, and capabilities.

Argonne National Laboratory is dedicated to supporting the research community in safeguarding U.S. science and engineering through the implementation of clear, actionable research security policies, procedures, practices, and capabilities. In alignment with the CHIPS and Science Act of 2022 (P.L. 117-167) and National Security Presidential Memorandum-33 (NSPM-33), Argonne has established a comprehensive Argonne National Laboratory Research Security Program.

What is Research Security?

Research security involves safeguarding the research enterprise against threats such as intellectual property theft, integrity violations, and foreign interference. It encompasses a system of controls designed to:
