Drive Nonproliferation Innovation

Rapid technology advancements challenge efforts to prevent CBRN proliferation and guard against emerging technology threats. SSS nonproliferation experts drive solutions for protecting U.S. technology from misuse and diversion while facilitating legitimate trade and technology advancement, enabling both national security and U.S. innovation leadership. We:

• Convene cross-disciplinary teams to provide practical, ground-truth technology assessments that inform new nonproliferation approaches for a multi-polar and dynamic world;
• Enlist experimental facilities and capabilities across Argonne to generate insights for nonproliferation measures aiming to prevent misuse of emerging and disruptive technologies; and
• Bolster U.S. and international partners’ abilities to identify and prevent transfers of materials, equipment, and technology that would contribute to programs of concern through innovative, science-informed capacity-building approaches.
