Infrastructure Security
DIS Menu
We identify security and resilience gaps in critical infrastructure systems to help sponsors prioritize strategies to reduce risk from threats and hazards.
We combine analytic expertise in engineering, hazards and threats, decision science, and artificial intelligence to identify practical strategies for enhancing infrastructure security and resilience. Our work in this area includes:
- Infrastructure system modeling: Our physics-based models simulate disruptions and their impacts across infrastructure systems to support assessments, planning, exercises, and real-world incidents.
- Natural hazard modeling and analysis: We use advanced meteorological, hydrological, and atmospheric modeling and artificial intelligence methods to support risk-informed decision-making and mitigation planning.
- Interdependency analysis: We evaluate interdependencies across infrastructure systems to identify and manage potential risks from cascading and escalating failures.
- Decision support tools: We build data-rich platforms that translate scientific analysis into practical planning resources for technical users and decision-makers.
