Abstract: I will summarize a strategy for transverse momentum dependent factorization that focuses on the goal of identifying and extracting intrinsic nonperturbative information.
I will argue that certain constraints are needed in order to maintain a nonperturbative hadron structure interpretation while at the same time including a consistent treatment of evolution and perturbation theory. Some early implementations will be shown.
Then I will discuss current efforts to study the Sivers asymmetry within this approach.
