ARM User Facility

ARM

EVS manages operations for two observatories of the Atmospheric Radiation Management (ARM) User Facility.

The ARM User Facility, a U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) Office of Science user facility, is a multi-platform scientific user facility with instruments at fixed and varying locations around the globe for obtaining continuous field measurements of atmospheric data. Argonne manages the Southern Great Plains and ARM Mobile Facility 3 observatories. The facilities are designed to improve the understanding and representation of clouds and aerosols, and how they interact with the Earth’s surface, in climate and Earth system models.

The DOE Office of Science established its national scientific user facilities to provide researchers with the most advanced tools of modern science for studying the nanoworld, the environment, and the atmosphere.
