The two-day event (September 22–23, 2026 at Argonne National Laboratory) aims to explore sodium battery manufacturing paradigms, end-use markets, domestic supply chain resilience, and next generation R&D. It will also serve as an opportunity to network and source partnerships among likeminded experts and potential collaborators at U.S. based organizations.
Sodium battery RD&D is critical to securing the global battery materials supply chain, reducing dependence on geographically concentrated critical minerals, and enabling broader access to energy storage solutions. Advances in sodium-ion technology have the potential to accelerate grid-scale storage deployment and mobility electrification, secure new and existing grid infrastructure, meet energy demand from the AI and data center boom, and advance national security.
The Summit will feature keynote presentations, technical sessions, and panel discussions addressing key challenges such as closing performance and cost gaps, and scaling manufacturing to meet growing global demand.
Details on registration, site access, accommodations, and agenda are all forthcoming.
Registration deadline: Non-U.S. citizens August 21st; U.S. citizens September 10th. Non-U.S. prospective attendees are encouraged to register earlier than the listed deadline to ensure site access.
