Small Modular Reactors (SMR) Summer School 2026

The Small Modular Reactors (SMR) Summer School 2026 – Fast Reactors and Fuel Cycles will be held on June 15-19, 2026 at Argonne National Laboratory in Lemont, Illinois. This one-week course for graduate students in nuclear engineering and science and related fields is organized by Argonne National Laboratory in collaboration with the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) Nuclear Energy Agency (NEA) Nuclear Education Skills and Technology (NEST) Framework. NEST is a multinational framework to build and nurture the next generation of nuclear subject matter experts through the transfer of practical experience and knowledge. 

The NEST SMR Summer School is held every summer and alternates locations between North America and Europe.
