Biography
Amy Bender is a member of the Experimental Cosmology group. Her research focuses on understanding the fundemental physics of the universe through measurements of the cosmic microwave background (CMB). Bender’s interests span from novel instrumentation for making CMB measurements to techniques for analysis of these unique datasets. Bender is currently an active member of both the South Pole Telescope and CMB-S4 collaborations.
Bender received her Ph.D. in astrophysics from the University of Colorado at Boulder. She was a postdoctoral fellow in astrophysics at McGill University after which she joined Argonne first as a postdoctoral researcher and later as scientific staff.
