Collaborative Research and Analysis
DIS Menu
DIS harnesses capabilities from across our core research areas and other research divisions at Argonne to address emerging national and global security challenges. The sections below provide current examples of issues where our staff are collaborating in cutting-edge research and analysis to help address dynamic problem sets that face today’s decision-makers.
Advanced Supply Chain Analytics
The Advanced Supply Chain Analytics (ASCA) initiative brings to bear a diverse set of data analytics, modeling, simulation, and visualization tools upon the challenge of assuring or denying complex supply chains. Argonne expertise includes analysis of supply chains for critical materials used in the energy sector.
Risk and Resilience
Argonne harnesses decades of science-based resilience expertise to understand how infrastructure operates under adverse conditions and inform planning decisions by the public and private sectors. Our work has included the development of unique data sets on current and future natural hazards, physics-based infrastructure system models, repeatable analytic frameworks, and technical assistance.
Pandemic Impact Analyses
Argonne is a leader in developing models to support and inform key decision makers in pandemic preparedness, response, and recovery efforts across the United States.
Global Asymmetric Threats
Argonne brings a unique portfolio of subject matter expertise, technical capabilities, real-world experience, and organizational relationships to help assess and manage risk associated with asymmetric threats facing the United States and its allies.
Global Energy Security Testbed
Argonne provides a world-class energy security research platform to support U.S. Government foreign policy objectives, countering the abilities of America’s adversaries to use energy for political or economic coercion.
Economic Resilience
Argonne has partnered with the Department of Commerce’s Economic Development Administration (EDA) to develop the National Economic Resilience Data Explorer (NERDE), a data dashboard to help a variety of users across the country with local economic recovery and resilience analysis.
