Global Asymmetric Threats (GAT)

Our Vision

Deliver world-class science and engineering solutions to combat asymmetric threats facing the United States

State and non-state actors around the globe are employing diverse tactics — including disinformation campaigns and cyber-attacks — that are designed to incite violence, divide society, and compromise infrastructure systems. These hybrid activities blur the lines between war and peace, the consequences of which threaten the safety and security of the United States and its allies. Addressing this evolving, global, asymmetric threat environment requires adaptive and innovative approaches.

Argonne’s Global Asymmetric Threats (GAT) initiative offers a unique blend of technical capabilities, subject matter expertise, organizational relationships, and real-world experience to help sponsors manage current and future asymmetric threats facing the United States and international partners. The initiative enables support to federal, state, local, and foreign governments as they seek to become more resilient to such threats by applying novel operational and policy approaches.
