Victor Guarino is the Manager of Engineering Services. In his 30+ year career at Argonne, he has had diverse roles in technical management such as project engineer for the ATLAS Tile Calorimeter at CERN, leading the design and fabrication of precision motion systems at the APS, project engineer for the design of several large telescope structures, and managing the Mechanical Support Group in the High Energy Physics division for 15 years.

Stuart has 15 years of experience with design and engineering and five years of experience in design supervision. Stuart leads a team of seven that make up the Design and Drafting group within Engineering Services. He is an expert in computer-aided design (CAD) and has worked in Inventor, AutoCAD, Creo, and NX.

Jim has over 50 years of experience including 40 years at Argonne with expertise in thermal hydraulics systems design and analysis. Most recently, Jim acted as the lead engineer for mechanical design and analysis for the target and cooling systems for developing medical isotopes. Jim has helped design and analyze uranium targets and associated components at the Intense Pulsed Neutron Source, electro-refiners and associated components in fuel recycle projects, as well as many others.

Larry has over 40 years of experience in decommissioning, and currently manages decommissioning area projects and activities at Argonne. His work includes international decommissioning, technical assistance in decommissioning, technical information exchange, training courses on decommissioning topics, and technical standards for decommissioning.

Eric has 25 years of design engineering experience including 15 years at Argonne where he has developed unique expertise for system/component design and analysis for advanced nuclear reactors. Eric also has rich experience designing experimental facility for advanced nuclear reactors. Eric is skilled in mechanical component design; mechanical system design and analysis; and many other fields.

Roger has over 36 years of engineering experience including 20 years at Argonne National Laboratory with significant expertise in system integration and component design. Roger’s expertise includes mechanical engineering concepts and integration, mechanisms and linkages, structures, weldments, hydraulics, as well as many other fields.

Phil has over 20 years of mechanical engineering experience with nearly all of it at Argonne providing analysis to support a range of experimental systems. He is currently a mechanical/civil engineer at the laboratory and is skilled in finite element analysis for mechanical systems (stress, modal frequency, transient) and thermal systems (steady-state and transient).

Dean has over 40 years of experience including 25 years at Argonne National Laboratory where his expertise in ultra-high vacuum systems lead to his participation in accelerator, diagnostics and photodetector projects. He is a member of the APS-Upgrade team working on the storage ring vacuum system.

Jeff has 30 years of mechanical engineering experience including six years at Argonne National Laboratory, where he is currently working as a mechanical engineer. Jeff is skilled in a wide range of mechanical system design providing considerable versatility.

Stan has over 45 years of experience designing mechanical systems including 28 years at Argonne with expertise in high temperature systems. Stan has worked on electrorefiners, direct electrolytic reducers, glovebox design, DUNE, and projects related to high-temperature molten salts and sodium. He is skilled in design, drafting, and computer-aided design.

Guosheng has over 15 years’ experience performing engineering analysis with expertise in the analysis and assessment of high temperature structures and materials. Guosheng is an expert in FEA/CFD; metallurgy, ceramics, and material processing; material characterization; thermodynamics; mechanics; and heat transfer.

Scott has worked as a Designer at Argonne since 2012. He currently supports Argonne engineers in projects for nuclear medicine research by creating accurate and complete models, assemblies, weldments, and drawings using ANSI standards. He is skilled in Creo (using Creo-Skeletons), Windchill, Autodesk Inventor 2018 and Vault, NX (SDRC), Team Center, and Revit MEP, and he has more than 30 years of experience using AutoCAD Electrical/Mechanical, Microsoft Windows, and Animator. Many of his designs are patent pending.
