JOBS EV estimates the economic impacts of manufacturing and operating light-duty electric vehicles.

JOBS EV is designed to allow users to quickly estimate the economic impacts associated with the manufacture and operation of light-duty electric vehicles. These impacts range from job creation to ripple-effect economic activity, such as local spending.

Built on the Excel-based platform common to other Argonne JOBS models, JOBS EV permits users to estimate economic impacts for individual states, regions, or the United States as a whole. The tool contains default input values, but users can override default data with their own data for more geographically specific results.

More details about the tool, including assumptions used in the model, are contained in the spreadsheet.

Although JOBS EV focuses on the manufacture and operations of EVs, it considers the entire vehicle and energy supply chains in calculating impacts. Impacts also include recurring expenditures for electricity generation, potential dealership/point-of-vehicle-sale revenues, as well as maintenance and repair costs associated with owning electric vehicles.
