The Argonne Collaborative Center for Energy Storage Science (ACCESS) convened prospective partners at its 2025 Battery Industry Day on Tuesday, September 23, 2025 at Argonne National Laboratory.
Collocated with the AIChE 7th Battery and Energy Storage Conference (Sept. 24–25; also at Argonne), this event provided an overview of Argonne’s capabilities across the full battery R&D and commercialization pipeline, recent discoveries and advancements in the space, and opportunities for partnership.
A formal agenda is linked here, and presentations from the event are linked here. Highlights included:
-
One-on-one engagement opportunities focused on intellectual property and industry collaboration.
-
Guided tours of key Argonne facilities, including the Materials Engineering Research Facility (MERF), ReCell Center, Minerals to Materials Supply Chain Facility (METALLIC), Cell Analysis, Modeling, and Prototyping (CAMP) Facility, Electrochemical Discovery Laboratory (EDL), Advanced Photon Source (APS) and Aurora Exascale Supercomputer.
-
Thorough discussions on Argonne’s capabilities in materials discovery, scale-up, recycling, and supply chain resilience; AI for energy storage; analytical tools, such as GREET, BatPaC, and EverBatt; and advanced characterization and modeling.
-
Extensive networking opportunities, including with Argonne students, postdocs, and early-career researchers.
