Biography
Cailin Buchanan is a Walter Massey Fellow in the Electrochemical Materials and Interfaces Group within the Materials Science Division. She focuses on automating fundamental electrochemistry experiments to accelerate clean energy storage solutions. Previously, Cailin was a postdoctoral appointee in the same group, during which she focused on linking fundamental electrochemical studies of lead and lead dioxide electrodes to lead acid battery performance. Her other focus areas include economic and environmental modeling of energy storage systems. Cailin completed her PhD in Chemical Engineering at the University of Michigan in 2022 and also has a Master of Science in Engineering and Master of Science in Sustainable Systems (2018) from the University of Michigan. She completed her Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering from The Ohio State University in 2016.
