Biography
Dr. Amanda M. Bachmann formally joined Argonne in January 2024 in the Reactor and Fuel Cycle Analysis Group. Her work focuses on the nuclear fuel cycle, including fuel availability and waste management, nonproliferation safeguards, and scientific computing. She is one of the primary developers for the Cyclus fuel cycle simulator. She completed her PhD in Nuclear Engineering from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign in 2023, with some of her research completed while a Visiting Student at Argonne. Outside of technical work, Dr. Bachmann is active in the American Nuclear Society and U.S. Women in Nuclear.
