Biography
Dr. Gabriel A. Flores is a postdoctoral appointee in the radiochemistry group at Argonne National Laboratory. His research interests include actinide/lanthanide chemistry and f-element separation. His current project focuses on neptunium recovery and recycling from used nuclear fuel. Gabriel received a B.S. in Chemistry from Florida International University in 2017 and a Ph.D. in Chemistry with a focus in Radiochemistry from the same in 2023 under the supervision of Konstantinos Kavallieratos. At FIU, Gabriel was a fellow of the Nuclear Regulatory Commission. His graduate research focused on the development and synthesis of pyrazole-based ligands which can improve the treatment process of high-level waste at the Savannah River Site.
