Argonne National Laboratory, located just 25 miles west of Chicago, is one of the world’s leading scientific research laboratories. And on Saturday, June 27, 2026, it was open to the public. Guests had the chance to tour our facilities, enjoy hands-on experiments, meet our staff and researchers, and learn how science is answering some of the biggest questions facing humanity.
Thank you to the thousands of visitors who attended our Open House. We hope you had a memorable day of science, learning and exploration. Argonne’s Educational Programs group also offers learning opportunities for students throughout the year, and on-site tours of the lab are available by appointment for those 13 years old or older.
