Aaron Oaks is a Principal Nuclear Engineer at Argonne National Laboratory, where he specializes in the development and qualification of metallic nuclear fuels for advanced reactor technologies, including sodium-cooled fast reactors. His research focuses on understanding the performance and degradation mechanisms of these fuel materials under operational conditions.
Beyond his technical expertise, Aaron is deeply committed to educational outreach, dedicating time to inspire and mentor the next generation of STEM professionals. Aaron volunteers regularly for educational STEM events, including STEMfests, Science Bowl, Hour of Code, and the Autonomous Vehicle Competition.
