Biography

Dr. Farghaly is a scientist/chemist in the Hydrogen and Fuel Cell Materials Group in Argonne’s Chemical Sciences and Engineering division and a CASE (Consortium for Advanced Science and Engineering) scientist in the Pritzker School of Molecular Engineering at the University of Chicago. He serves as the Associate Editor of the Springer Nature ​Nanotechnology for Environmental Engineering journal and Associate Editor of the ​Frontiers in Materials journal.

Dr. Farghaly’s current research interests focus on nanomaterials development and characterization for fuel cells and electrolysis applications. Specifically, he is interested in developing novel high-throughput materials synthesis methods, nanostructured porous electrocatalysts and catalyst support frameworks, machine learning (ML) driven electrocatalysts synthesis, high-throughput electrocatalysts characterization, and synchrotron X-ray characterization techniques.
