Biography
Alaettin Serhan Mete is a Computational Scientist at Argonne National Laboratory and a member of the ATLAS experiment at the European Organization for Nuclear Research (CERN). In the ATLAS experiment, he leads the Core Software group, overseeing the development and maintenance of the ATLAS software stack, known as Athena. His expertise includes I/O, data management and storage, and software performance optimization. Mete’s interests encompass high-throughput, high-performance, and exascale computing applications in the context of High Energy Physics.
Mete received his Doctor of Philosophy degree in High Energy Physics from Iowa State University. Following graduation, he joined the University of California, Irvine, where he held positions as a Post-Doctoral Research Scholar and Assistant Project Scientist in the Department of Physics and Astronomy.
