Arvind Ramanathan(APS)

Arvind Ramanathan is the Group Leader for the Information Solutions(IS) group at the Advanced Photon Source (APS). The IS group is responsible for managing all business systems, databases & user support systems across the APS. 

As the IS-Group Leader, Arvind heads the team in developing business applications and is responsible for the systems architecture, development, implementation, and management of efficient, cost-effective software systems that are used by users and staff at the APS. Arvind has more than of 20 years experience designing software systems across multiple verticals and over 10 years of leadership experience. 

Prior to his current appointment, Arvind was the Senior Director of Information & Technology at the University of Chicago where he managed IT operations, application systems & led the integration of in-classroom & virtual learning management tools at the Graham school of continuing liberal & professional studies. Before joining Argonne, Arvind worked in multiple medical associations where he leveraged his knowledge of systems, & provided technology consulting expertise to various fortune 500 clients.

Arvind completed his Bachelors in Computer Science & Engineering from the Cochin University of Science & Technology in India, has a Masters in Computer Science from the University of Texas at Arlington and an MBA from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University.
