Biography
Barry Lai is the group leader of the Microscopy Group (MIC) in the X-ray Science Division, Advanced Photon Source. His interests include many areas of x-ray microscopy: instruments, methods, and applications. He was involved with the developments of various microprobes (2-ID-D/E, 8-BM) and nanoprobes (Bionanoprobe, In-Situ Nanoprobe, PtychoProbe) at the APS. He guided the technique development of XRF microscopy, ptychography, tomography, laminography, and multi-modality analysis. He has investigated applications of x-ray microscopy in energy science, life science, and environmental science.
