Biography
As the Strategic Initiatives Technical Director for CELS, Craig acts as a strategic advisor to CELS leadership, reporting directly to the Associate Laboratory Director. He is responsible for driving both strategic and tactical technology initiatives, balancing long-term projects with immediate operational needs. Craig also serves as a consultant and representative for CELS in initiatives such as artificial intelligence (AI) and high-performance computing (HPC), ensuring their successful integration and execution across diverse research and operational teams.
With over 28 years of experience in computing and IT at Argonne, Craig has been instrumental in leading the CELS Systems Team to provide the robust computing environment required to advance scientific research.
Craig is focused on aligning technology strategies with the long-term goals of the CELS Directorate while addressing immediate operational challenges. He is dedicated to advancing technology in support of scientific discovery, and strongly believes in the importance of enabling society’s progress through emerging technology. As Strategic Initiatives Technical Director, he remains committed to fostering innovation, supporting scientific excellence, and preparing the CELS Directorate for future challenges and opportunities.
He’s a dedicated problem solver, professional cat herder, and can talk your ear off about beer if you let him.
