Eric Cervi

Principal Nuclear Engineer

Biography

Eric Cervi obtained an M.Sc. in Nuclear Engineering and a PhD in Energy and Nuclear Science and Technology from Politecnico di Milano, and joined Argonne National Laboratory in 2022. He has extensive experience in the multiphysics simulation of nuclear reactors, including neutronics and thermal–hydraulics. His research interests focus on the development of advanced numerical methods for compressible and multi-material fluid dynamics, as well as AI-based methods for nuclear reactor applications. His work spans both fission and fusion systems. More recently, he has led some of the AI/ML-related activities within the Nuclear Science and Engineering Division, including the development of transformer-based data-driven models and physics-informed neural networks.
