Evan Ogren

Evan Ogren is an Experimental Engineer in the Reactor Technology Development and Testing Group within the Nuclear Science and Engineering Division at Argonne National Laboratory. His work focuses on component testing and technology development for sodium-cooled reactors at the Mechanisms Engineering Test Loop (METL). He leads the development of the Bearing Test Article (BTA), a new experiment designed to test bearings submerged in liquid sodium in the METL facility. He earned his B.S. and M.S. in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Wisconsin–Madison, where his graduate research focused on the purification and tribology of molten chloride salts for thermal energy storage.
