Biography

Iain Hyde is the Director of the National Economic Research and Resilience Center and the National Preparedness Analytics Center at Argonne National Laboratory. He leads a portfolio of economic development, emergency management, disaster recovery, and community resilience projects supporting the Department of Commerce Economic Development Administration, Federal Emergency Management Agency, Department of Energy, and other federal, state, local, and non-governmental partners.

Prior to joining Argonne, Iain was the Director of the Colorado Resiliency Office, where he led Colorado’s interagency disaster recovery operations, and managed the State’s Resilience and Community Recovery program.  In that role, he oversaw the development of Colorado’s first statewide resilience plan. In addition, he led efforts to streamline and manage 30 state and federal funding programs totaling $2 billion and advised the Governor and his cabinet on long-term recovery needs and priorities. Iain has 17 years of professional experience in public administration and emergency management. He holds a bachelor’s in political science from Colorado College, a Master of Public Administration from the University of Colorado at Denver.
