Biography

Jaclyn O’Day joined Argonne in 2023 as the laboratory’s Deputy Director for Government Relations.

Based in Washington, D.C., Jaclyn assists in the planning, coordination, and direction of a variety of activities to help raise awareness about the lab’s science and technology initiatives and their impact. Jaclyn monitors the federal budget process, activities in Congress, think tanks, federal advisory board meetings, and other forums to help identify engagement opportunities for Argonne.

From 2021 to 2023, Jaclyn worked as Executive Director of the U.S. House of Representatives’ Problem Solvers Caucus, which is a Congressional caucus championing ideas appealing to a broad range of Americans.

Prior to that, she served as Chief of Staff and Deputy Chief of Staff for former U.S. Representative Dan Lipinski (IL-03). She has also worked as Chief of Staff and Administrator of Legislative Affairs for the Illinois Capital Development Board, as well as Deputy Director for Legislative Affairs at the Illinois Department of Human Services.

Jaclyn holds a Master of Arts (Public Policy and Administration) from Northwestern University and a Bachelor of Arts (Communications) from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
