Biography
Dr. Jiantao Li has extensive research experience in electrochemical energy storage and advanced synchrotron-based characterization techniques, particularly during his role as a Postdoctoral Fellow at Argonne National Laboratory (December 2019 – November 2024). In January 2025, he began his current position as an Assistant Professor (Career-Track) at Northwestern University and concurrently holds a joint appointment as a NAISE Fellow at Argonne National Laboratory, starting April 2025.
Currently, Dr. Li specializes in the development and application of advanced synchrotron-based methodologies to accelerate innovation in energy storage. His research focuses on the technical advancement of dry-coated electrodes for lithium-ion batteries and ionogel-based electrolytes for zinc-ion batteries, with an emphasis on enabling scalable, grid-level energy storage solutions.
