Technician III - Electro-Mechanical
Juan Anda is an electromechanical technician for the Argonne Tandem Linac Accelerator System (ATLAS), a U.S. Department of Energy Office of Science user facility.
Biography
Juan supports all experiments by maintaining vacuums and vacuum-related components of the facility. He joined Argonne in January 2021 as part of the team upgrading the accelerator at the Advanced Photon Source (APS). A graduate of the College of DuPage, where he received his associates degree and HVAC certification in 2013, Juan also recently trained with now-retired Argonne vacuum technician Arnold Germain. While not working at ATLAS, Juan plays in the Argonne Double Eagle Golf League during the summer months. He has been in the league for three years and reports that his handicap has gone down two strokes.
