Biography

Safety Interlocks Group Leader under the Advanced Photon Source Engineering Support (AES) division responsible for developing, implementing and supporting primarily PLC-based interlock systems for personnel access control and equipment protection of the APS accelerators and beamlines. These include the Accelerator Access Control Interlock Systems (ACIS), Beamline Personnel Safety Systems (PSS), Front End Equipment Protection Systems (FEEPS), Beamline Equipment Protections Systems (BLEPS) and Laser Safety Interlock Systems.

 

  • Licensed Professional Engineer with an MSEE and 40 years of industrial experience as a project manager and design engineer.
  • Knowledgeable in both theory and practice with advanced control systems, automation, motion control, electrical and electronic design.
