Biography
With 8 years of experience in battery electrochemistry, I work at the intersection of materials, electrolytes, and interfaces to understand and improve cell performance in lithium ion and sodium ion systems. My research spans electrode materials including layered oxides, polyanionic compounds, and alloying anodes such as tin and silicon, as well as electrolyte design and interfacial chemistry.
By integrating materials and electrolyte design, I uncover degradation mechanisms and failure pathways and translate fundamental insights into solutions for real battery systems. This approach enabled me to resolve performance, safety, and lifetime challenges in commercial 18650 sodium ion cells developed with Tiamat Energy at Collège de France in Paris. I am currently advancing these approaches to address next-generation challenges in battery systems at Argonne National Laboratory.
