Robyn Wheeler Grange

Biography
Robyn Wheeler Grange is Director of the Office of Community Engagement (OCE), which Argonne created in 2022 to enhance the laboratory’s local, state, and regional community outreach and engagement efforts.
The OCE support the laboratory’s efforts to:
- Extend benefits from Argonne’s capabilities and resources to more communities, including those who have historically been underserved
- Advance science and technology through expanded collaborations
- Accelerate the transfer of technologies invented at Argonne to industry and other partners for U.S. economic prosperity
- Build the workforce of the future to maintain U.S. competitiveness
As OCE Director, Robyn is available to partners via the Argonne in Chicago office in the Hyde Park neighborhood on Chicago’s South Side, as well as Argonne’s main campus in Lemont, Ill.
Prior to becoming Director of the OCE, Robyn served from 2020 to 2023 as Head of State, Local and Regional Public Affairs and Outreach within Argonne’s Communications and Public Affairs division. In that role, her initiatives were designed to deliver increased awareness of Argonne and its mission, and establish impactful relationships with the lab’s local and regional innovation ecosystem, civic and community leaders, and small business stakeholders.
Prior to joining Argonne, Robyn served in various roles, including District Director for the Office of U.S. Representative Bobby Rush in Illinois’s 1st congressional district, Director of Communications for the United Way of Central Illinois, and Director of the Office of University Relations at Chicago State University.
Robyn holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Media Studies from Hunter College in New York City.
