Biography
Dr. Samantha Sanft has over ten years of experience working as an archaeologist across North America on contexts ranging from first peoples to contact and recent history. Dr. Sanft specializes in radiocarbon dating, Bayesian chronological modeling (OxCal), and artifact analyses (including elemental analysis utilizing Bruker pXRF). She has experience leading field projects, managing archaeological collections, and conducting community-engaged research. Additionally, she is a Registered Professional Archaeologist (RPA). At Argonne, Dr. Sanft assists federal sponsors with cultural resource management: conducting archaeological field surveys and historic resource inventories; writing reports and agreement documents; supporting digital data management needs; and developing interpretive materials.
